Wes Anderson’s film already world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this past July, but hasn’t screened in the United States or Canada yet. It was met with mostly positive reviews at Cannes, but it definitely felt, to my eyes, at least, like a slight step back for Anderson. But, like all of his films, I have this nagging feeling it’ll play much better on subsequent viewings. The director is already shooting his next movie in Spain and may just have the assembled the best cast of his career. The currently untitled film will star Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Margot Robbie, Brian Cranston, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Hope Davis, and Liev Schreiber. M Anderson is expected to wrap shooting in late September, and plot details on the film are still under wraps. Meanwhile, “The French Dispatch” will indeed show up at Telluride and NYFF, or so we think, before it makes its U.S. theatrical debut on October 22. Contribute Hire me
