Soderbergh hasn’t made Oscar-bait fare since, gosh, 2000’s one-two punch of ‘Erin Brokovich’ and ‘Traffic.’ Of course, judging by the just-released ‘The Laundromat" trailer, the only thing Oscar-bait about this movie seems to be Meryl Streep’s presence and its November release date. No, this rather looks like a movie that feels quite similar to Soderbergh’s highly underrated “The Informant.” Soderbergh seems to have shot it with a range of the latest RED digital cameras. The outstanding cast also features Sharon Stone, Alex Pettyfer, David Schwimmer, and Melissa Rauch, among others.
