Last we heard from the 60-year-old writer-director was producing genre fare such as 2015’s excellent “Don’t Breathe.” However, as far as directing goes, Raimi hasn’t directed a movie since 2013’s disappointing “Oz the Great and Powerful”– That’s six years without a movie for this venerable director who put a stamp on genre cinema in the late ‘80s and most of the ‘90s. Last year it was reported that Raimi had been working on a mysterious film titled “The Bermuda Triangle” from Skydance Productions. The film would involve a mysterious island filled with wormholes, sharks, Vikings, and Nazis. Sign us up. However, that project seems to have been put in the backburner as Raimi is returning to the Marvel fold and is now set to direct the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Director Scott Derrickson, who helmed the 2016 “Doctor Strange” movie, had exited the sequel over much-rumored “creative differences.” Raimi confirmed his involvement as Doctor Strange 2 director while promoting his new Quibi series 50 States of Fright. “I loved Doctor Strange as a kid,” Raimi told the media on a conference call Tuesday. “He was always after Spider-Man and Batman for me.
