Quentin Tarantino’s ninth movie as writer-director will be released this coming July, and will have its world premiere, according to my sources, at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Columbia Pictures has released the first “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” poster, meaning a trailer isn’t too far behind as well. The film takes place in 1969 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Western TV actor that, alongside his trusty stunt double, played by Brad Pitt, is seeing his star fade and tries to keep hold of his crumbling TV career. Oh, and they also live next door to Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) — the film takes place the same year the actress, Roman Polanski’s late wife, was brutally murdered by members of Charlie Manson’s cult. Tarantino has mentioned that the film is the closest he’s ever come to replicating the style of “Pulp Fiction.” The director is coming off the least successful movie of his career at the box-office, 2015’s “The Hateful Eight,” which also happens to be a damn fine movie that was overlooked by critics and audiences alike.
