Almodovar tells Deadline that he “came to the decision that he’s not ready to tackle such a monumental project in English.” I always wondered if Almodovar’s very Spanish-centric melodramas could translate well into the English language, alas, unfortunately we mightnever know as I’m of the frame of mind that he will probably never attempt that again. Not many renowned world filmmakers have managed to make the successful leap to American cinema.
