In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, “Joker” director Todd Phillips confirmed that Joaquin Phoenix lost 52 pounds to play the role of Arthur Fleck aka The Joker. His slim frame is almost unmissable in the recently released “final” Joker trailer, which shows Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck living as a struggling comedian in Gotham City in the 1980s. Phoenix’ “Joker” co-star Zazie Beetz also spoke to MTV about the actor’s weight loss, explaining that the film was rewritten as they were filming but Phoenix’ changing appearance meant they weren’t able to re-shoot scenes at a later date....

Shyamalan’s film was a slow-burner that dealt with UFOs in very similar ways that Peele seems to in “Nope”. There’s a little more humor in Peele’s film, but the idea seems to remain the same. Instead of focusing on a farm family, Peele sets his sights on Wranglers in a Southern California ranch. ”Nope” seems to be a bigger budgeted popcorn version of “Signs” with sprinkles of “Twister” and an emphasis on chasing UFOs....

We were wondering when this one would start production, it was originally set for a September date, but then Moore signed on for Todd Haynes’ “May/December,” which is currently shooting. Moore will play the role of Verna (Moore), who embarks on a luxurious cruise in the Arctic Northwest Passage. It’s on this cruise ship that she meets two characters, friendly and charming Grace (Oh), and the shy but mysterious Bob, an unaccompanied man in his mid-sixties who inherited a family business....

None of the stars are expected to return for the final filming, but Scorsese is there and so is DP Rodrigo Prieto. I’m hearing that shooting will mostly concentrate on Osage cast members and extras. No release date has been officially set. A late 2022 release date is not out of the question, but there has been much speculation about a delayed 2023 launch. To make a long story short, Spielberg protegé, and “A Star is Born” director, Bradley Cooper, eventually stepped in to direct. And now, we’re hearing that Netflix has landed the musical drama (per Variety). The project, which has Cooper co-writing, directing, and producing, was originally set up at Paramount. According to Variety: It’s unclear when “Bernstein” will start production, although a 2021 release date seems very likely. Cooper was showered with awards love back in 2018 with “A Star is Born,” a film that I thought had a strong first half but a very weak and rushed second....
