“Nostalgia” competed for the Palme d’Or this past May at Cannes. Martone’s film was a surprise inclusion for competition. People were mostly expecting it to land at Venice, but something happened. If you don’t know the story, on November 17th, 2017, Lil Peep was found dead due to a drug overdose in the back of his tour bus outside the Tucson, Arizona venue where he’d been scheduled to perform....

Deadline has the exclusive report that Disney and Sony have indeed decided to go their separate ways. Don’t worry Spidey fanatics, Tom Holland and director Jon Watts are still under contract with Sony for two more movies. What all of this means is that whatever future MCU plans Marvel and Disney may have had with Spider-Man have, most likely, been scrapped now. According to Deadline, the offer Disney put forth at the table was so weak, and infuriated Sony boss Tom Rothman so much, that Rothman didn’t even propose a counteroffer....

Anyway, “Holmes and Watson” has earned $10 million in its first two days of release, so it isn’t the box-office bomb they thought it would be, but one wonders why Netflix, which earlier this year bought ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ and ‘Anhiliation’ from Paramount, would balk at the opportunity to buy a major studio film starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, especially since they seem to be having success streaming Adam Sandler flicks on a yearly basis....
