If you’ve yet to catch up to the FX show that bears the same name and style of dramedy as the Coen’s 1996 Minnesota film noir masterpiece, then you are quite possibly missing out on the best show on TV. The first season was a home run, the second season was a near-miracle of multiple moving parts, maybe the best season of television since Season 4 of “Breaking Bad”, and, although the third season might not have satisfied every fan, including me, with its multitudes of ambiguities and unlikeable characters, it had its fair share of memorable moments....

Here’s the synopsis: Memory: The Origins of Alien unearths the largely untold origin story behind Ridley Scott’s cinematic masterpiece, and reveals a treasure trove of never-before-seen materials from the archives of creators Dan O’Bannon and H.R. Giger – including original story notes, rejected designs and storyboards, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and O’Bannon’s original 29 page script from 1971, titled Memory. The documentary also takes fans on an exploration of the mythical underpinnings of the film and dedicates focus on the film’s iconic “Chestburster” scene....

The gist of the story has to do with the constant delays M:I7 has had to endure due to the pandemic’s effect on global supply-chain, production workers and locations. The film started shooting in Italy on February 2020, but it had to stop and start production seven different times since then. Notice the location, Italy was the epicentre of the pandemic that very month. In contrast, the most recent film in the series, 2018’s “Mission: Impossible — Fallout,” cost $190 million to make....

Regardless, it does look like Gunn will give us a total reboot of Suicide Squad. Set during a 1991 Christmas celebration at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate, “Spencer” is a chamber piece meant to make the viewer feel the claustrophobia Diana endured being suffocated by the Royal family. By all accounts, the story being told here is fiction, so either you hop along with Larrain’s fantasy or you don’t.Playing Diana is Kristen Stewart, in a finely attuned performance that at times veers towards sketch, yes, being a royal is a pain, but the lengths at which Larrain/Stewart go to make you feel that pain turn the whole thing into eerie caricature....

Miller took a big swing and it didn’t pay off. Is anyone really to be blamed for this fiasco? After “Mad Max: Fury Road,” there wasn’t a distributor in the world that wouldn’t work with Miller. Despite being available on streaming, “Wonder Woman 1984” managed the best box-office debut of the pandemic, opening with $16.7 million for Christmas weekend, according to studio estimates on Sunday. Warner Bros also revealed that nearly half of HBO Max subscribers watched the film on its first day on the streaming platform. WW84 also grossed an additional $19.4 million overseas, where it began playing a week earlier. The global intake to date is that of $85 million....

Surprisingly critics weren’t necessarily on-board with the film back in 1998, the mixed reviews “Lebowski” received are now seen as rather dumbfounding , but I remember the time of its release, its anticipation coming off the heels of the Coen’s best movie “Fargo,” people expected the second-coming. They kind of got it but didn’t realize it at the time. I sure as hell know I didn’t. “Lebowski” was tonally and structurally at odds with the Coen’s wintry ‘96 masterpiece....

I haven’t really been following the fan response to David Gordon Green’s “Halloween Ends,” but it seems as though the film was met with heavy criticism from not just film critics, but moviegoers as well. This has resulted in a 56% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a pathetic 5.0 user rating on IMDB. People just don’t seem to like Green’s trilogy capper. The franchise villain, Michael Myers, is mostly absent in “Halloween Ends,” and fans were none-too-pleased about that creative decision....

Hart has admitted to have had “heated” discussions with the aforementioned Jewish boy’s mother, “some problems came out of that,“ she said, but did not want to go further to elaborate. Because of this interview Hart is being accused of anti-semitic remarks, others have taken offense to Hart’s suggestion that anyone who’s not a Christian cannot be considered a good person. Hart, has previously said it’s “scary” to be a Christian in Hollywood....

In case you didn’t notice, Bailey is African- American and Ariel is a character synonymous with white, redhead-culture. Whatever that means. A lot of movie fans wanted none of that today and expressed their discontentment throughout various social media platforms. Whereas others, especially the media, were celebrating the inclusive and diverse casting of the character. Me? I couldn’t care less. It’s just another mass-marketed Disney movie — although, I do wonder if this casting will result in less tickets sold....

Therefore it’s also no wonder that Spielberg is said to be hugely disappointed that he was never able to meet the “Master of Suspense” before he died in poor health in 1980. But this failure to get together was not from want of trying on Spielberg’s behalf.
