I assume that Netflix might not be backing this next project. “White Noise” had a budget balloon to more than $100 million and it doesn’t look like the film will be up for any awards given the inaccessibility of the material and the not-so-enthusiastic reviews. Regardless, “White Noise” is an incredibly ambitious and oddly fascinating misfire for Baumbach.
