Released last Friday, “The Last Days of American Crime” could still get a positive review added to its score in the coming days, I have yet to see it, maybe it will be me, who knows, but a bigger concern is the fact that it has a measly 24% audience score. There have been plenty of critically-maligned movies with generally positive audience scores, but this is not one of them. Based on Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini’s 2009 graphic novel of the same name, “The Last Days of American Crime” tells the tale of a retired career criminal (Édgar Ramírez) who decides to un-retire and seek revenge after the death of his brother Rory (Daniel Fox) at the hands of gangsters. He puts together a team of fellow criminals (Michael Pitt and Anna Brewster) to plan a heist against his bro’s murderers. “The Last Days of American Crime” clocks in at an epic 2 hours and 28 minutes and is directed by Olivier Megaton. Megaton (I can’t get over that name) is responsible for perpetrating on us the likes of “Columbiana,” “Transporter 3,” “Taken 2,” and “Taken 3.” “The Last Days of American Crime” is available to stream on Netflix now.
