Douglas had his big break at age 33 in 1949’s “Champion” and then the legendary Douglas Sr. streak commenced with the likes of 1951’s “Ace in the Hole,” 1956’s “Lust for Life” 1957’s “Paths of Glory,” and 1960’s “Spartacus.” His four biggest cinematic achievements. Married for 63 years to Anne Buydens, he was also the father of four sons, including actor Michael Douglas. Douglas was also an influential voice in ending the Hollywood Blacklist of the 1950s through his support of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. In addition, he was considered one of the world’s oldest active bloggers and continued to write for the Huffington Post until just a few years ago.
