“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” won’t be a Best Picture nominee, the reviews are too timid, but Feinberg still has it as his #5 in the category. He’ll take it out of his predictions soon enough, people aren’t doing somersaults, just being politely positive about it. Having Park Chan-wook (Decision to Leave) at #4 in Best Director is a choice. Ditto Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King). I don’t think either of them will make the final five. I’d wage my bets more on Martin McDonagh, Daniel Scheinert/Kwan and/or Joseph Kosinski to nab a nomination. Feinberg has Gabrielle LaBelle (The Fabelmans) as his #5. No chance. Oddly enough, he also has Adam Sandler (Hustle) at #6. Nope. I’m still predicting Butler, Fraser, Farrell, Cruise and Nighy — the only logical choices at this point in the race. Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway) is Feinberg’s #5 in Supporting Actor. That’s definitely … a choice. Not that Henry gives a bad performance, he’s quite good. Also, Paul Dano (The Fabelmans) is #2, for a nothingburger performance that is completely overshadowed by Judd Hirsch’s 10 minute cameo in the same movie. Best, or actually worst, of all, Angela Bassett is smack-dab at the top of Feinberg’s Best Supporting Actress rankings. To all the pundits drumming up ‘Wakanda Forever,’ IT’S OVER. The film has landed with a polite thud when it comes to critics. Contribute Hire me
