Chazelle’s 1920s epic will be screened for NYC and Los Angeles film critics more than a month before it gets released in theaters, or, specifically, 7 weeks. This is a surefire sign that they want the film to be seen as widely as possible. On November 14th, “Babylon” will be screened in Los Angeles and on November 16th it’ll be New York City’s turn. Both are Guild screenings with press allowed to attend, the cast and crew will be doing Q&As right after. No word yet on embargoes, but I’m tempted to make the trip to one of these screenings. There will be no old-school intermission either as all 188 minutes of “Babylon” will be screened uninterrupted. Speaking of runtimes, and with ‘Wakanda Forever’ having now been seen, the last major contender left to watch after November 16th will be James Cameron’s 190 minute “Avatar.” Contribute Hire me
