Last month, the MPAA slapped Cronenberg’s film with an NC-17 rating, but an appeal lead to it finally being handed an “R” rating. “Infinity Pool” is said to have been re-edited to achieve the “R”. The official warning stamped on the film by the MPAA states “Rated R for graphic violence, disturbing material, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use, and some language.” Let’s hope Cronenberg’s vision was not compromised during the re-editing process. His last film was the critically-acclaimed “Possessor”. That one premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and would expect “Infinity Pool” to also have its first screening at Sundance this coming January. Contribute Hire me
