It was also announced this summer that Christian Petzold’s “The Red Sky” will be coming in the “Spring of 2023.” That also means a presumed bow at Berlin. Something tells me this upcoming Berlinale will have a more-than-decent lineup come early next year with new films expected from Christian Petzold “The Big Red Sky”, Francois Ozon’s “Madeleine”, Ira Sachs’ “Passengers”, Phillipe Garrel “Le Grand Chariot,” André Téchiné “Les Pieds Sur Terre,” and Angela Schanelec’s “Music”. This past March’s lineup ended up producing only a handful of festival breakouts, such as “Alcarras” “Both Sides of the Blade,” “The Novelist’s Film,” and “Rimini.” It was a bit of an off year, but the same can be said of all the major festivals of 2022.
