The usuals won the acting categories: Blanchett, Farrell, and Huy-Quan. However, surprise, Janelle Monae won Supporting Actress for her turn in “Glass Onion.” Also, Claudio Miranda also won his second cinematography award this season, after last week’s NYFCC prize, and he’s right now turning into a force to be reckoned with. The big story however is “RRR”. With its NYFCC Best Director win and now placing in the Atlanta top 10, not to mention winning their International Feature award, we should start keeping an eye out on this one. Variety currently has it as one of their 10 Best Picture nominees. I’ll be writing something about this film in the coming day.
