The Will Smith starring slavery epic just had its first screening in DC this afternoon. Attendees m seem to have been mainly composed of African-American groups, celebs and political personalities. This was a “private screening”, held during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation 51st Annual Legislative Conference in DC. Will Smith and director Antoine Fuqua were in attendance to present the movie, and then they conducted a post-screening Q&A. Are people ready to forgive Smith? I don’t think Apple really cares anymore. No point in gathering reactions from this private screening since, to my knowledge, not too many journalists were in attendance. This does, however, give us a possible clue as to what Apple’s game plan might be when it comes to a firm release date. December 2022? Maybe an AFI world premiere? Contribute Hire me
