The Serra interview also has the Spanish filmmaker proclaiming that the future of cinema resides in “radical” filmmaking. His films sure are. If you’ve seen “Pacifiction,” “The Death of Louis XIV,” and “Liberté” then you know what Serra means by “radical”. However, a fascinating tidbit from the interview has Serra admitting that Kristen Stewart is the actress he most wants to work with. Not just that, he says that “it’s a possibility that is being studied.” This would be a very odd actor/director collaboration. Then again, Stewart has proven herself to being very adventurous in her director choices, she’s already worked with David Cronenberg, Olivier Assayas, Pablo Larrain, Woody Allen, Kelly Reichardt and Walter Salles.
