Andersson’s film career actually began as an actress, when she was just 15-years-old, in commercials directed by, you guessed it, Ingmar Bergman. Eventually Bergman would take her to the famous Malmö City Theater, where he theater director. She will always be known as Alma in “Persona”, and for that very famous single-take monologue about the greatest orgasm Alma ever had. Safe for the two-dozen, or so, movies she made with Bergman during the course of her illustrious career, Andersson also worked with Hollywood filmmakers such as John Huston and Robert Altman. In all, she starred in 90 films during her astonishing career. Supposedly, in late 2009, Andersson was hit with a massive stroke and was cared for permanently in a nursing home in Stockholm.
