A24 are very committed to two high-priority awards titles this season —“C’mon C’mon” and “The Tragedy of Macbeth” — their third title was supposed to be Stephen Karam’s “The Humans,” which wasn’t at Telluride and only premiered at TIFF. I wasn’t feeling it with “The Humans” when I saw it a few weeks back, calling it an “overdirected chamber piece”. Despite my reservations, critics were generally very positive in their reviews, with some even proclaiming it an Oscar contender in the Picture, screenplay and supporting acting categories. All those hopes came to a crashing halt today when I heard that A24 was planning on dumping the film to television via Showtime. Contribute Hire me
