I haven’t really been following the fan response to David Gordon Green’s “Halloween Ends,” but it seems as though the film was met with heavy criticism from not just film critics, but moviegoers as well. This has resulted in a 56% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a pathetic 5.0 user rating on IMDB. People just don’t seem to like Green’s trilogy capper. The franchise villain, Michael Myers, is mostly absent in “Halloween Ends,” and fans were none-too-pleased about that creative decision. Instead, a new character called Corey Cunningham takes center stage with the bulk of the film exploring his romance with Laurie’s granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak). Corey essentially becomes the new Michael in the film, donning the iconic mask and doing most of the murders. Now fans are demanding that “Halloween Ends” gets reshot from scratch. A new Change.org calls for a new version of the movie to be made with more Michael Myers. More than 13,000 signatures have been amassed thus far … The petitions description reads as follows: “Halloween Ends was NOT a film that the Fans wanted! This was an Origins Story! The Corey Story! We deserve a movie worthy of Michael Myers & the Halloween Franchise! We love this Franchise whole heartily and this version of a Halloween Movie left us sad, mad, disappointed, and Infuriated. Please give us a movie that shows us what Halloween is really about. Our Apex Predator…. the King of Slasher Movies Michael Myers! This movie gave us a weak pathetic Michael who needed his mask to survive! This isn’t OUR MICHAEL MYERS! Our Killer is Strong , relentless, & unstoppable! Please right this wrong! We beg of you !!!” Contribute Hire me
