The 39th annual Golden Raspberry Awards has a very spread out field this year, but the main culprits, err nominees, with six nominations each, are the aforementioned John Travolta crime saga “Gotti,” Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly’s team-up “Holmes & Watson,” Dinesh D’Souza’s Republican-wet-dream doc “Death of a Nation” and the Melissa McCarthy puppet comedy “The Happytime Murders.” Notice Melissa McCarthy, a best actress Oscar candidate this year with “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” being nominated for worst actress for “Happytime Murders” and “Life of the Party,” and President Donald Trump (“Death of a Nation” and “Fahrenheit 11/9”) is actually mentioned in the worst actor category with Travolta, Ferrell, voice work from Johnny Depp (“Sherlock Gnomes”) and Bruce Willis (“Death Wish”). “Winners” are announced on Feb. 23, the day before the 91st Academy Awards.
