This David Spade-starring romantic-comedy seems to be following the same schema as Adam Sandler’s Netflix goof-fests; there’s a lot of silliness, a lot of crude humor and plenty of slapstick. Beware of a comedy where the main character falls off a cliff, not to mention hitting rocks and trees on the way down, and still, somehow, miraculously, survives. Turn your brain off for this one. Spade was once a comedy stay in the ‘90s, playing sidekick to Chris Farley in the classic raunch-fests “Black Sheep” and “Tommy Boy.” However, after “Joe Dirt” Spade’s star faded and he was mostly relegated to box-office bombs (“Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star,” “The Benchwarmers,”) and cameos in Sandler movies (although Spade’s Wikipedia does mention “Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser” exists and was released straight to Crackle in 2015).
Don’t get me wrong, I hope there are laughs in this latest Spade endeavor, not to mention his talented comedic co-star here is Lauren Lapkus, who most definitely deserves to be seen more on-screen. The official synopsis is as follows: “The Wrong Missy” is set to arrive on Netflix on May 13th. Contribute Hire me
