“Tenet” will actually open in Canada on Thursday, Aug. 27, even before the U.S. release which is set for select cities on Wednesday, Sept. 2. I bet New York and California aren’t part of the itinerary due in no part thanks to the resident governors of those states. The release of “Tenet” in the U.S. will occur in cities that “have reopened safely.” The first round of openings, starting from Aug. 26 will include Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the UK, followed by Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Lebanon, Malaysia, Middle East, New Zealand, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates on Aug. 27. East Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and Vietnam see it on Friday, Aug. 28 Meanwhile, China is still awaiting its release date, mostly because they are in deep shits with the second wave of COVID. Despite the bogus numbers they have released (83,000 cases so far), UK intel has revealed recently that the actual number of COVID-19 related cases in China is actually more than 10 times that amount, the number I had read a few months ago was 3.4 million cases, which means it’s only grown since then. Also, China has been adamant at refusing to screen “Tenet” unless it was 30 minutes shorter because the orient country has instilled a rule that no movie over 2 hours can play in theaters during the pandemic.
