I’m being told a 2022 release is out of the question and that “Rustin” is still very much a 2023 release. The film stars the ultra-underrated Colman Domingo (check out his brilliant performance in “Zola”). Wolfe directed 2020’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and his upcoming “Rustin” revolves around gay, civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, who organized the 1963 March on Washington — the ingredients are most definitely there for prime Oscar bait. I am not entirely sure what happened to it, just that “it’s not ready.” Production had wrapped on “Rustin” in August. The film started shooting in November of 2021. That’s a 10-month shoot. There must have certainly been delays along the way, no? Rumor had it that there were some minor reshoots. Netflix pulling “Rustin” out of their 2022 lineup basically means the “Knives Out” sequel is their top priority. Contribute Hire me
