However, when it comes to the latter, it seems like most locations in the U.S. won’t have the capability of projecting the film at 4K, leaving the audience to only experience a 2K version of the film, all this, despite Lee’s fervent promotional push for the technology. Suffice to say, the fact that there’s no cinema in the US where moviegoers will get the full “Gemini Man” experience, as Lee intended, is perplexing....

Now, the film’s star, Jamie Lee Curtis, is calling it “a masterpiece.” “I’m as disappointed as you are. It is a masterpiece! It will be worth the WAIT!” tweeted the star. Of course, you can never trust an artist praising their own movie, but I have heard impressive buzz on this movie, so much so that I do believe Curtis when she praises it. I’m not expecting a “masterpiece,” but I am expecting a very good movie, one which will solidify the franchise for the next decade or so....

A riveting and ice-cold Rosamund Pike, playing dead-eyed, immoral legal guardian Marla Grayson, is the reason to watch Blakeson’s film. It might just be the best work of her entire career. Her Grayson makes a living by legally, yes legally, scamming defenseless seniors out of their assets, with the intention of taking control of their lives and shutting out any family members from seeing them. It’s a horrendously immoral piece of business, and having this character as not just our main protagonist, but also the film’s narrative, is a risky decision by Blakeson....

Much like every other Neeson vehicle since 2009, the screenplay in “Memory” is undercooked, flirting with, and sometimes attaining, banality with every twist that comes forth. The main gripe I have with many of these Neeson actioneers is that they all feel rushed — the good guys are underwritten and the bad guys are so overwritten that they come off as cartoonish. “Memory” is just the latest in a series of really bad films that Irish-born actor has made....

The problem isn’t just about its R-rating but also the fact that its filmmakers have emphasized their openness at it being the anti-’Rhapsody, ‘meaning that it would be a film more open in showing its main subject’s queer lifestyle. Whether people want to admit it or not, that, more likely than not, had to have irked many mainstream moviegoers and turned them off in wanting to see the movie. I know, terrible, right?...

“Spencer” is meant as a surreal, almost nightmarish, statement on Princess Diana‘s anguish over being a royal. If you’re already familiar with the Princess of Wales’ story, then you already know she had a loveless marriage to Prince Charles. In 1992, they would eventually separate and four years later divorce. Set during a 1991 Christmas celebration at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate, “Spencer” is a chamber piece meant to make the viewer feel the claustrophobia Diana endured being suffocated by the Royal family....

One of Luke’s lines from the trailer - “No one is ever really gone”. The screen then cuts to black and we get a tease for Palpatine. And the title is “Rise of Skywalker”. Maybe this also means that Luke is “not gone” either … but I’m betting, absed on what Mark Hammil has stated, that, if Luke does Show up, it’ll be in a minimal role. With all of that said, Hayden Christensen surely has to be involved in this movie, right?...

“Tenet’“ is currently being filmed on location across seven countries and is said to be “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.” The director of photography will be Nolan regular Hoyte van Hoytema. Nolan practically gets carte-blanche every time he decides to make a movie. No other director in Hollywood has the power to just show up on the front steps of a big studio, tell them he wants hundreds of millions of dollars to bring an original vision to the screen and that complete artistic control must be granted to him....

The film is an ambitious attempt by Campos to adapt Donald Ray Pollack’s 2011 novel of the same name. The setting is in a small town in post-War America and narrated by an unnamed narrator with a heavy southern drawl, who, at times, deviates from the storytelling by going into puzzling backwoods philosophical diatribes. Is it then any surprise that, despite the critical acclaim, Johnson did not return to direct “The Rise of Skywalker”? Instead, we get JJ Abrams, returning after directing the safe but entertaining first chapter, 2015’s “The Force Awakens.” I can tell you that the film fails because Abrams does exactly the opposite of what Johnson did — he appeases to the loyalists. Abrams has listened to the fans and has course-corrected the trajectory of Johnson’s “Last Jedi....
